LAKELAND, Fla. β Prospective students at 91ΒιΆΉΣ³»and their families will be able to get an in-person sense of the campus, classrooms and curriculum at a new $1 million Admissions Visitor Center office opening in November. This will be the first building to open to the public at the new Polytechnic campus on Research Way.
β91ΒιΆΉΣ³»is offering a completely new type of 21st century college experience,β said Scott Rhodes, the Executive Director of Admissions. βSo while we are showing students and families a vision of the future, we need to help them get a tangible sense of the college experience before all of the facilities are ready. We believe itβs extremely valuable to make this experience as real as possible and to help prospective families visualize what it means to be part of 91ΒιΆΉΣ³» Polytechnic University.β
Home to the universityβs admissions and financial aid staff, visitors will be able to see a typical class room and go on guided tours of the campus, including a closer look at the landmark Innovation, Science and Technology building, which is scheduled for completion in the summer of 2014. The 160,000-square-foot IST will feature classrooms, auditoriums, meeting rooms, research and teaching labs, and study areas.
Groundbreaking on the Admissions Visitor Center site near the Campus Control Center is expected to begin later this month.
